Nando
Schellen passed from this life in Phoenix, AZ, March 28,
2016, after a brief illness. During his career he
directed over 70 Operas in Europe, Canada, and the USA.
As Director of Opera Theatre-Northern Arizona University
from 2000-2015, Nando was highly supportive of the MONC
Audition program thus in his honor, an ongoing
Outstanding Singer Award has been established with the
MONC-AZ Auditions.
Donations honoring Nando may be sent
at any time to MONC-AZ Auditions, 7125 N. 11th Avenue,
Phoenix, AZ 85021. (Checks preferable). Donations are
tax deductible, and may be listed in the annual MONC
Audition Program. Many thanks for all that Nando has
done to help young opera singers.
